 Our Origin Story

At the age of 14 I decided I wanted to be a chef. That was it- my life goal. I was obsessed, enthralled, in love. Nothing could tear me away from my thirst for learning about food and cooking. I pursued my passion continually, working in kitchens from then on. The first time I was introduced to copper was in the form of a bowl, being taught to make whipped cream, whipping by hand for minute upon minute. The next memorable meeting would be learning to make risotto. My chef would only allow risotto to touch a copper pot. No other pot would do. Laboring away over an 8-burner stove, stirring risotto to order. Copper pot, to copper pot, wooden spoon gracefully swirling round and round, nonstop, for 24 minutes. Butter-lemon-salt-stock-stir-repeat. I fell deeper in love. Patience began to grow in my eager young cook’s soul, right there over that stove and those pots. My love affair with cooking grew, and I realized then, that cooking for me, will always be my favorite way to show my love.

My culinary journey took me to many wonderful places. I met my husband, cooking beside him at The Greenhouse Tavern, followed by a deep dive headfirst into Japanese cuisine at Noodlecat. As my love for both cooking, and my husband grew, we opened a restaurant called Toast, and learned how to run a restaurant from top to bottom. We then longed for children, so I moved to a more sustainable facet of the culinary world. I became Resident Chef at Sur La Table, where I was able to share my passion and experience with so many others in the classroom. That then opened the door for me to become a recipe developer for Vitamix, where I learned how to take recipes and make them approachable for all.

My current stage in my culinary career is by far my favorite. I am a mom to two beautiful boys, and I get to cook meals for them, and others out of my own kitchen, with the copper pot always in my heart (and on my stove!)
Dear friend, I certainly hope that while your meals are in my care, you feel my passion, and my love with each bite.
